Activities for a rainy day


Baking – Why don’t you see what you can find in the cupboards and bake some treats. We had fun making these quick and easy chocolate cupcakes or you can take a look at some other recipes here.

Enjoy a movie – Sometimes it’s nice just to snuggle up and watch a movie together. Maybe dim the lights, make you own popcorn, have a few treats and pretend your at the cinema. 


DrawingGet the colouring pencils, crayons and felt tips out and make some colourful pictures.


Ice biscuits – The girls like to decorate rich tea biscuits with different coloured icing and sprinkles. Of course the best part is tasting them.


Play a game – Hide and seek is popular game the girls like to play or find a board game you can all play together.


Role Play – Get children to use their imagination and make up a story and act it out. 


Talent show – Take part in your own talent show singing, dancing and any other way to show off hidden talents.


Ice cube painting – Ice cube painting is a lot of fun. Isabelle made a spring flower out of ice cubes. You can take a look at her picture here.


Dress Up – Children enjoy dressing up. Why not have a go at making your own hats and accessories too.


Button photo frame – An easy craft activity children will enjoy. Make their own photo frame for the most treasured photos.


Finger painting – Cut out some templates have a blank canvas, card or piece of paper to hand and start creating a wonderful piece of art.


Build a den – Find blankets, cushions, pillows, chairs anything to help you make a great den.
