Leaf Printing

leafp

Isabelle and Scarlett have enjoyed an afternoon of leaf printing.

We decided to go for a stroll in the local nature reserve to see what leaves we could find. They ended up coming back with a  basket full of different leaves, sticks and fur-corns. It was actually a really nice afternoon despite the weather not being great.

Scarlett really enjoyed our walk becoming a mini explorer and asked a lot of questions about the nature around us.

Once Isabelle and Scarlett had filled the basket, they had a little play at the park before the walk back home.

The girls had plenty of leaves different shapes and sizes to help them with their pictures.

They were both eager to get started so I got out a selection of A3 coloured card, placed all the paints onto the table and left the girls to it. It was about letting them use their imagination and most of all have fun.

It was lovely watching them having so much fun, getting messy and being creative.

Isabelle created a ‘Midnight Tree’ which looks fantastic with all the colours against the black background.

When Scarlett’s picture had dried I cut it into a dinosaur shape that she wanted and she was very pleased.

Two happy little girls with their new pieces of art.
